The audience
INTERNATIONALFREELANCERSDAY reaches working freelancers and remote workers across many countries: people who choose platforms, buy software subscriptions, pay for accounting and invoicing tools, build client sites on WordPress, and make those decisions with intent, usually mid-research. They arrive largely through search, looking for platform comparisons, rate benchmarks, tax explainers and tool reviews. If your product genuinely serves independent workers, this is an audience of exactly the people who would use it, at the moment they are deciding.
What we offer
- Display advertising. Standard placements across article pages, bought directly or through our advertising partners.
- Sponsored content. Occasionally, we publish paid articles. They are clearly labelled as sponsored, they are held to basic accuracy standards, and they are written or reviewed so a reader is never misled about what they are reading. A sponsored label is not negotiable and not shrinkable.
- Affiliate partnerships. If your product has an affiliate program and independently earns a place in our coverage, we may join the program. Read the next section carefully before proposing this, because the causality only ever runs one way: coverage first, on merit, then monetisation, never the reverse.
What sponsorship does not buy
This section exists so nobody wastes a pitch. Consistent with our editorial standards and ownership and funding page:
- Advertising buys no influence over reviews, rankings or news coverage. A platform can run ads on this site and be criticised by it in the same week; both have happened to advertisers everywhere, and the second is not softened by the first.
- Placement in a comparison or “best of” list cannot be bought, at any price. Positions follow the article’s stated criteria.
- We do not sell links dressed as editorial, do not accept “guest posts” that are advertising in disguise, and do not remove or edit accurate coverage as part of any deal.
- Sponsored content is labelled, full stop. If your campaign requires the label to disappear, we are not the right site.
What we decline
Our readers trust this site with decisions about their livelihoods, so some money is not worth taking. We decline advertising for:
- get-rich schemes and courses marketed on income claims that cannot be verified, including “earn thousands monthly from home” framings;
- services that violate platform rules or defraud clients: account buying and selling, review manipulation, portfolio fabrication, credential faking, and contract-cheating services such as taking tests or interviews on someone’s behalf;
- predatory financial products aimed at income-volatile workers, including payday-style lending dressed as freelancer cash flow relief;
- anything we judge deceptive, unlawful, or built to exploit the exact audience we exist to inform. This list is not exhaustive, and our judgment is final.
We may also decline campaigns from companies at the centre of ongoing critical coverage, on either side’s initiative, because neither of us benefits from the ambiguity.
How it works
Write to support@internationalfreelancersday.com with the subject line Advertising. Tell us what you are promoting, the format you have in mind, your target regions and your timeline, and we will reply with availability, current rates and specs. We keep the process direct: you deal with the same small team that runs the site, decisions come quickly, and if the answer is no we will say so plainly rather than going quiet.
A note on why the rules are strict
The strictness is not posturing; it is the product. This site is useful to advertisers only because readers trust it, and readers trust it only because coverage is demonstrably not for sale. Advertisers rent access to that trust; nobody gets to spend it. The arrangement protects you too: a recommendation from a publication known to sell them would be worthless, including to the companies buying it.
