Terms of Service
Agreement
These terms govern your use of internationalfreelancersday.com, the website of INTERNATIONALFREELANCERSDAY, an independent publication about freelancing and remote work. By reading or otherwise using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, the remedy is simple and free: do not use the site. Because we do not require accounts, there is nothing to sign and nothing to cancel.
What this site is, and what it is not
The site publishes journalism and reference material: platform guides and comparisons, rate benchmarks, tax and legal explainers, tool reviews and industry news. All of it is general information addressed to a wide audience of readers in many countries. None of it is professional advice to you personally.
- Not tax or legal advice. Tax and legal rules for independent workers differ by country, by region within countries, and by year. An article can be accurate for the jurisdiction and year it describes and wrong for yours. Before acting on anything in our Tax and Legal section, confirm it against official sources for your country and, where the stakes justify it, a licensed professional.
- Not financial advice. Rate benchmarks describe markets; they do not tell you what to charge, and no figure on this site is a promise of what you will earn.
- Not a marketplace. We do not broker work, process payments between freelancers and clients, or participate in any transaction you enter through a platform we cover.
Using the site
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive licence to access and read the site for ordinary purposes. You agree not to:
- scrape, harvest or republish the site’s content at scale, whether by script, bot or bulk download, including for training machine-learning models, without written permission;
- probe, attack or overload the site’s infrastructure, or attempt to bypass any security or rate-limiting measure;
- frame the site or mirror it in a way that presents our content as someone else’s;
- use the site in any way that violates the law applicable to you or to us.
Our content and your use of it
Everything we publish, including text, original images, tables and the compilation of data in our comparisons, is protected by copyright and belongs to the site operator or its licensors. You are welcome to quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link to the original article; that is how the open web should work. Republishing whole articles, fee tables or rate datasets, with or without credit, requires permission first: write to support@internationalfreelancersday.com. Our approach to other people’s copyright, and how to complain if you believe we have infringed yours, is set out in the DMCA and copyright policy.
Third-party platforms and links
The site links extensively to freelance platforms, marketplaces, government tax resources and software vendors. Those sites belong to other people. We do not control them, we do not guarantee them, and linking to a platform is not an endorsement of everything the platform does, still less a guarantee that your experience there will be good. Your relationship with any platform, including its fees, its terms, its dispute process and its treatment of your account, is between you and that platform.
Affiliate links and advertising
Some outbound links are affiliate links that can earn us a commission, and pages carry display advertising, both disclosed and explained on our ownership and funding page. Affiliate relationships do not change the price you pay and do not determine our editorial judgments, per our editorial standards. Sponsored content, when it appears, is labelled as such.
Accuracy and dated information
We work hard to be accurate, and our fact-checking and corrections policies describe exactly how. But the subject matter of this site changes underneath us: platforms revise fees quietly, tax thresholds move annually, tools change pricing. An article is a record of what was true when it was written or last verified, and we date our verifications for precisely that reason. Always check the platform’s own current pricing page, or the current official tax guidance, before making a decision that depends on a number.
No warranties
The site and its content are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that following any guide will produce any particular outcome, including income of any amount.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the site operator and its editors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost income, lost data or lost opportunities, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or its content, including decisions you make in reliance on it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Indemnity
If your misuse of the site, or your breach of these terms, causes a third party to bring a claim against us, you agree to indemnify the site operator against the reasonable costs and damages arising from that claim.
Changes and availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time, and we may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised date, and your continued use after a change is acceptance of it. The version on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising from the site, are governed by the laws applicable where the site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
